Heck yes. A first trailer for the upcoming Disney Channel original movie ‘Descendants’ has just been released and it looks equal parts evil and hilarious.
We’re all familiar with Disney’s iconic villains, but what about their teenaged children? In the upcoming Disney Channel original movie Descendants, which will premiere this summer on the mouse network (no official release date has been announced just yet), that question will be explored to hilarious– and malicious– effect. The offspring of some of our favorite evil doers will be featured in the film, including that of Maleficent (Kristin Chenoweth) and Cruella de Vil (Wendy Raquel Robinson), who are also both prominently featured in the trailer. Check it out now!
Disney’s sure to be raucous Descendants will prove that villains are entitled to a happily ever after, too, and that includes children.
As the film picks up, Maleficent and Cruella de Vil, as well as Aladdin‘s Jafar (Maz Jobrani) and Sleeping Beauty‘s Evil Queen (Kathy Najimy), also known as “the most infamous villains that have ever lived,” all reside on an island prison. The kicker? “Each one has a child that has never left their side– until now.”
The Next Generation Of Villains
“Until now” is where our story kicks off from. The four children of the aforementioned villains have all been selected to attend a fancy preparatory school. Naturally, this does not bode well with any of the plucky teens, particularly Maleficent’s purple haired daughter, Mal (Dove Cameron).
Mal begins to object to the “prissy, pink princesses” to whom she will be subjected, before Mother Maleficent shuts her up real quick with a mere cinching of her fingers and a swift “SH.”
What do you think of the Descendants trailer? Are you excited to learn about the villains’ children?
