What a tragedy. Everybody Loves Raymond child star Sawyer Sweeten committed suicide on April 23 at the young age of 19. After news surfaced of his heartbreaking death, his on-screen mom, Patricia Heaton, 57, took to Twitter to mourn and offer her condolences.
Everybody Loves Raymond fans were stunned by the news of Sawyer’s death. He played Geoffrey Barone, one of the twin sons of Ray and Debra Barone, on the hit TV series from 1996 to 2005. Upon hearing the tragic news, Patricia said this on Twitter:
Sawyer Sweeten was a funny and exceptionally bright young man. He is gone from us far too soon.

Sawyer was just a year and half old when he began starring on Everybody Loves Raymond. He starred alongside his actual twin brother Sullivan, who played Michael Barone. Sawyer and Sullivan’s sister, Madylin, played their sister Ally Baron on the show.
Madylin released a statement regarding her brother’s death on April 23.
“This morning a terrible family tragedy has occurred,” she said. “We are devastated to report that our beloved brother, son, and friend, Sawyer Sweeten, took his own life. He was weeks away from his 20th birthday. At this sensitive time, our family requests privacy and we beg of you to reach out to the ones you love.”
Sawyer was reportedly visiting family in Texas. He died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, RadarOnline reports.
Our thoughts and prayers remain with Sawyer’s family and friends during this difficult time.
