Kelly Clarkson Birthday: Singer & ‘American Idol’ Winner Turns 33
Kelly became a household name when she won the very first American Idol competition in 2002. Her debut single, “A Moment Like This,” shattered records and established Kelly as a serious musical talent beyond any television show. Her illustrious career has seen her top the charts with hits “Since U Been Gone,” “Mr. Know It All” and “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You.)”
It’s hard to pick the highlight of Kelly’s past year. We bet that if you were to ask her, she’d likely say that her biggest moment of the last twelve months was the birth of her daughter! Kelly and husband Brandon Blackstock welcomed River Rose in June 2014.
Childbirth didn’t stop Kelly from helping out a good cause, as she and Brandon took part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in August. The hilarious video was Kelly’s first appearance since giving birth and we thought she looked great!
Kelly was back to making music. During a free concert in October 2014, Kelly slayed her cover of Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me.” Kelly also rocked it alongside Miranda Lambert to honor Reba McEntire at the first American Country Countdown Awards. Kelly’s voice wasn’t the only knockout she delivered that night, as she wore an incredible sparkly dress and a stunning smoky eye.
Kelly Shuts Down The Haters
Unfortunately, not everyone was on board with Kelly’s image. She came under fire from some fat-shaming from haters who criticized her post-baby body. Kelly seemed to shake off their negative comments, focusing more on how much she’s loving her life.
Kelly released her brand new track, “Heartbeat Song” in January 2015, after she dropped an adorable teaser featuring baby River. She followed up the song with an amazing video right in time for Valentine’s Day.
Even when she wasn’t singing her own music, Kelly was giving her fans life. She pulled out an impressive “History of Duets” with Jimmy Fallon in March 2015, before blowing everyone away with a rendition of Tracy Chapman’s “Give Me One Reason.” She even partnered with Josh Groban for a recording of the classic Phantom of the Opera song, “All I Ask Of You.”
WOW! What an amazing year! We can’t wait to see what Kelly accomplishes over the next twelve months! Happy Birthday, Kelly! Join in, HollywoodLifers, and leave your Birthday wishes for Kelly down below!
