There’s been so much speculation about how Kris Jenner, 59, has reacted to Bruce Jenner’s, 65, gender transition, and finally, during the Olympian’s 20/20 interview with Diane Sawyer, we got an update on where the exes stand. Get the scoop on what Bruce said about Kris in the buzzed-about interview!
Bruce & Kris Jenner Relationship: Her Words During ’20/20′ Interview
Bruce shockingly revealed in his interview that he took estrogen for five years in the 80s…in between his marriages to Linda Thompson and Kris. And when he married Kris…he was already transitioning.
“I had been on hormones for five years. I was a good, solid 36B or something. You can’t hide those things. She goes, ‘Well, okay. You like to wear women’s clothes…’ Well…I kind of downplayed it some. I feel in a lot of ways that when you love somebody you have a tendency where you don’t want to hurt them,” Bruce admitted.
The next bombshell came when Bruce admitted that Kris had actually seen him dressed in women’s clothing. “She didn’t say much. Just, like, ‘Okay, you gonna change now?'” he laughed. “I probably was not as good at saying that this was down deep in my soul and, ‘I don’t know if I can go any farther like this.'”
Unfortunately, the whole process did have a bit of an affect on the Kardashian matriarch. “It was tough on her. I understand that. Kris is a good woman, I’ve got no complaints with her. She’s a good person. Honestly, if she would’ve been really good with it, and understanding, we’d probably still be together.” Kris gave no comment during the interview.
While discussing Kris, Bruce also revealed that the couple had never went to therapy. “She tried to deal with it on her own,” he explained. “But this isn’t an issue you just walk away from. It doesn’t work like that.”
But, in the end, Bruce has no regrets about his marriage to Kris Jenner. “I loved Kris. I had a wonderful life with her,” he gushed. “I learned a lot from her. That’s what you like in a relationship — to be able to learn from the person you’re with. I thought we had a pretty good sex life! Later on, I heard maybe we didn’t…to her. But I thought it was pretty good!”
Also important to note: Bruce said he told both Linda and Chrystie of his gender struggle throughout their relationships.
Even though this whole thing has been incredibly difficult for Kris, she has still supported Bruce as the truth has slowly come out In fact, just hours before the 20/20 interview aired, Kim Kardashian, 34, confirmed to HollywoodLife.com that the entire family, Kris included, would be watching the two-hour special together.
“We are watching it together as a family,” she told us EXCLUSIVELY at Variety’s Power Of Women event. “I’m going to rush home after this amazing event and catch a flight to LA so we can watch it all together.”
Bruce is definitely lucky to have such a big family offering support during this emotional time!
