‘The Voice’: Koryn Hawthorne Has What It Takes To Win It All

‘The Voice’ has a new frontrunner! Koryn Hawthorne faced near-elimination on more than one occasion this season, but on April 20, she proved why she still belongs in the competition. After her Top 10 performance, I definitely think Koryn has what it takes to win it all!

It was an amazing night of performances all around on the April 20 episode of The Voice, but for me, the real standout was 17-year-old Koryn Hawthorne, one of Pharrell Williams three remaining contestants. Koryn sang an emotional and powerful rendition of Ed Sheeran’s “Make It Rain” for her Top 10 performance, and nailed it, becoming my new overall favorite to win the whole thing!

America, I seriously hope you’re on the same page as me for this one, because I definitely don’t want to see Koryn go home anytime soon! Really, though, she totally killed it on Monday, bringing in the perfect amount of emotion while still hitting every single note with perfection.

What I loved the most was how Koryn truly connected with the song, and she made sure the audience was invested the entire time. You could just tell every time the cameras cut to Pharrell and the other coaches that they were completely mesmerized by what was happening on the stage. I definitely had chills the entire time!

I’m also a TOTAL sucker for an underdog, and knowing the up-and-down journey Koryn has endured throughout her time on the show makes me just want to root for her even more. Originally, she chose Christina Aguilera as her coach, but during the Knockout round, she lost to Kimberly Nichole, who’s also still in the competition.

Luckily, Pharrell swooped in for the steal, and Koryn had her chance at redemption during the live playoffs, but once again, she found herself in jeopardy after not being voted into the Top 12 by America. Clearly Pharrell recognized her true talent, though, because he chose her as his one save — and he’s definitely being rewarded for it now!

While singers like Kimberly and fellow Pharrell artist, Sawyer Fredericks, have been frontrunners from the beginning, I am confident that Koryn has solidified herself as a true contender on this show and will honestly be SHOCKED if she gets sent home tonight after what she did during that performance.

Plus, Pharrell deserves a win!!

What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Do you agree with me that Koryn has what it takes to win it all? Who else are you loving?
