John started off his interview with David Letterman by talking about his latest BIG purchase — a red pick-up truck, which his son Benjamin, loves.
“First time in my life, I bought a red Dodge Ram pick-up truck, a big one, and [Ben] loves it – Ella loves it. I take him for rides. I took him to Toys R Us recently,” John told the host.
“When we got out of the truck, I said, ‘why are all these people wanting my photograph?’. I didn’t know if he knew I was in films or not. He said, ‘Maybe they saw one of your movies’. And then he said, ‘I want to work with you.'” It’s so cute that Benjamin wants to work with his dad in movies!
John went on to say to David, “So tonight maybe he can come on and say hi to you.” Obviously the host gladly agreed and said bring him out now and said, “I hope he’s still there and hasn’t gone over to Fallon.” Too funny!

David tries to follow him but the four-year-old refused to come on stage even when dad said, “It’s ok. You finally got to work with Dad.” Ben responded by throwing his arms back, grunting and stomping his feet, to which David jokingly responded, “I think we’ve got a place for him on the staff.”
