Zayn Malik’s Shaved Head: He Needed A ‘Fresh Start’ After Quitting 1D

Zayn’s new cropped look has a lot to do with him leaving One Direction. HollywoodLife.com has EXCLUSIVELY learned that the former boy band star wanted a ‘fresh start’ after leaving the group and shaving his head was part of his new beginning.

When Zayn Malik, 22, revealed a new shaved head, his fans were heartbroken his flowing locks were no more. But HollywoodLife.com has EXCLUSIVELY learned that the former One Direction star’s new haircut is all part of his cleanse after leaving the group. Zayn feels that cutting off his old, foppish hair symbolizes a clean slate after leaving One Direction!

Zayn Malik’s Reason For His Shaved Head

“Zayn decided to shave his head as a cleansing ritual after all he’s been through,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “He felt it signified a fresh start, and again distances him from his boy band days when he had foppish hair.”

We have to admit, that actually makes a lot of sense. Plus the short ‘do actually really seems to suit him and makes him look more grown-up.

The new look could all be part of the master plan for Zayn’s highly anticipated solo career as he attempts to do something more edgy. He was also recently spotted wearing a nose ring, which is just another part of his transformation post 1-D.

Zayn Malik & One Direction: No Bad Blood Between Them

Meanwhile, there’s clearly no bad blood between Zayn and his former bandmates. As we previously reported, during his acceptance speech at the 2015 Asian Awards on April 17, he gave a special shoutout to his One Direction boys — Harry Styles, 21, Liam Payne, 21, Niall Horan, 21, and Louis Tomlinson, 23.

“I’d also like to take this moment to thank four of the best guys I’ve ever met,” Zayn said. “Everything I’ve done with them will stay with me for the rest of my life.”

What d’you think, HollywoodLifers? Does Zayn’s new look signify a change in his life?
