After former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez was found guilty of first-degree murder, the convicted felon shared a heartfelt message with his fiancee Shayanna Jenkins in the courtroom.

Aaron Hernandez, 25, has been found guilty of murdering 27-year-old semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd by a jury in Fall River, Massachusetts on Apr. 15. Once the verdict was given, the ex football player’s shocked fiancée, Shayanna Jenkins, 26, broke down in tears, as he mouthed words of encouragement from across the courtroom.

Aaron Hernandez Prison Sentencing: Tells Fiancee To ‘Be Strong’

After being proven guilty for the first-degree murder of Odin, Aaron was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Aaron’s sentencing comes after a nearly three-month trial, where over 130 witnesses testified. Testimony from multiple witnesses included Patriots’ owner Robert Kraft and even his fiancée, Shayanna.

The guilty verdict surely was a tough pill to swallow not only for the fallen sports star, but for the woman he was supposed to marry. Right after Aaron’s sentencing was called, Shayanna cried uncontrollably in the courtroom, according to TMZ.

While the verdict was being read, Aaron shook his head in disbelief — then turned to look at Shayanna and mouthed the words, “Be strong,” the report says.

More Trials To Come For Aaron

Aaron, who was charged with taking Odin’s life in June 2013, always acted like he had done nothing. For fans of the former NFL tight end, this verdict might come as a shock.

Prosecutors say Odin was seen on June 17, 2013 around 2:30 a.m. with Aaron and his friends, Carlos Ortiz and Ernest Wallace, in a rented silver Nissan Altima. Later that day, a jogger found his body covered in gunshots, according to CNN

Both Carlso and Ernest, who were also charged with murder, have pleaded not guilty, and will be tried separately.

Even though the Odin case has finally been settled with Aaron, he is still scheduled to spend even more time in the courtroom – for completely separate trials.

After sentencing in the Odin case, Aaron will still stand trial in the shooting deaths of two people in Boston in 2012.  That trial is scheduled to begin in May.

Will Aaron’s fiancée Shayanna be able to handle much more of this?
