Christina Aguilera’s ‘Nashville’ Song ‘The Real Thing’
So, wait, has Christina actually gone country!? Not completely!
The Voice judges plays a pop superstar (just like herself) named Jade St. John on the show, but while in Nashville for two nights, reveals her dream to release a country album.
But “The Real Thing” is in tune with Xtina’s pop roots, and considering she performs it during her first episode on the hit ABC series, which airs April 15, it’s likely a way to introduce that the new character is a pop artist. Still, we get a taste of country flavor on the track, which we’ll hopefully see more of as Christina’s arc progresses.
Taking a stab at country music isn’t the only change Christina is making for Nashville, either! In March, she revealed on Instagram that her character will have brown hair on the show — meaning she had to ditch her gorgeous blonde locks while filming.
Fans were certainly shocked when the new mom debuted the brunette ‘do on Instagram, but she quickly put their fears to rest by explaining in the photo’s caption that the makeover was for her character. “Jade’s been busy studying her lines,” she wrote. “Can’t wait for #Nashville.”
Christina will appear on Nashville beginning April 15. Are you excited to see her on the show?
