Everyone jokes that Taylor Swift only dates guys for song inspirations. Unfortunately her current beau, Calvin Harris, wasn’t laughing when he told her to never write a song about him according to a new report!
Calvin Harris, 31, has made it clear to Taylor Swift, 25, that he has no interest in joining the ranks of Harry Styles, 21, Joe Jonas, 25, Jake Gyllenhaal, 34, and John Mayer, 37, by having her put their relationship into a song! Calvin’s reasons are not entirely selfish though as, he thinks this lyrical embargo is in Taylor’s best interests as well, according a new report.
Calvin Harris & Taylor Swift: Songs About Their Relationship Are Off Limits
Calvin was well aware of Taylor’s tendency to write about her boyfriends long before the two started dating. He finally addressed this “elephant in the room” and told Taylor to never write a song about him, reports OK Magazine.
Calvin reportedly confronted Taylor about her notorious songwriting habits, telling her that “he doesn’t want her to do that to him,” an insider told OK. However, he wasn’t just looking to avoid the “Forever & Always,” “Dear John” and “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” treatment. Calvin thinks that Taylor is an fantastic talent who shouldn’t waste her time with such lyrics!
Calvin thinks she’s an “an incredible musician,” who should use her “intellect and channel positive energy into her songwriting,” instead of writing hit songs with “mundane lyrics about boys,” according to the report.
Yikes! That’s a bit of backhanded compliment, calling her brilliant while putting down her past music. However, Taylor has shown that she’s willing to work with Calvin and try something new. The two were considering writing a song together, working Taylor’s vocal styles with Calvin’s EDM background.
However, if Calvin wants to be absolutely certain that Taylor never ever writes a scornful song about him, he could just treat her with respect and kindness.

Zendaya was spotted on the set of TayTay’s new music video, a remix of her track “Bad Blood.” Initial reports wondered if Kanye West or even Calvin would join her on the track. The details are still up in the air, but Taylor’s friends Cara Delevingne, Hayley Williams and Lily Donaldson were also seen on set. What are they up to? We can’t wait for the new video!
What do you think about Calvin’s request, HollywoodLifers? Should Taylor respect his wishes or did he go too far by exerting some creative control?
