Now this sounds like a viewing party we’d like to attend! Bruce Jenner’s sit-down interview with Diane Sawyer airs Apr. 24, and guess who he wants to come over and watch it with him? Both the Jenner and the Kardashian clans!
Bruce Jenner, 65, bravely sat down with Diane Sawyer, 69, and opened up about his transition into becoming a woman. While it might be nerve-wracking to watch the emotional interview play back for Bruce, a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that the former Olympian has invited his whole family to support him and watch the special together. We have all the details!
Bruce Jenner’s ’20/20′ Interview: Family Viewing Party
While Bruce is anxious to see how his world announcement comes across on camera during the 20/20 special, he is even more eager to use this event as an opportunity to finally mend the relationship between the Jenners and the Kardashians.
“He wants both families together, under his roof, watching the interview,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “He’s begging everyone to make time in their lives to be together next weekend for his coming out party.”
Aw, how sweet! But besides making peace, Bruce hopes this experience will alleviate some of the questions his kids might still have about the changes he’s going through.
“Many questions and perhaps things his children didn’t understand or can’t wrap their head around will be answered. He’s certain his children, even Kris, will have a lot of emotions watching,” the source explains. “He wants to be there with each of them, comforting them and wiping tears from their faces as he unravels a secret thats been eating him alive for most of his life.”
Bruce Will Still Be The Family Patriarch
Although he is planning to become a woman, Bruce still wants to maintain his role as the family patriarch.
“He’s still the patriarch of the family and doesn’t want to give up that role. All he’s doing is changing the title and how he looks,” the source reveals. “Bruce wants to assure everyone in his family that he has the same heart.”
Surely, watching Bruce explain these things when the special airs on ABC, will be a bonding experience for the Jenners and the Kardashians.
“Bruce wants his family to become more united than ever, watching his interview,” the source adds.
