It looks like the Duggars have some new competition. A German mother of 13, is reportedly pregnant with not just one, but four babies. The biggest shocker? She’s 65-years-old!
Annegret Raunigk, a Berlin-based teacher, is making headlines for reportedly being 21 weeks pregnant with quadruplets. Not only is she already a mom to 13 children, but she’s also 65-years-old — thus making her a high-risk pregnancy. Very scary.
Annegret Raunigk: German Mother, 65, Pregnant With Quadruplets
With children ranging in ages 44 to 9, Annegret is no stranger to parenting. The German mom is reportedly expanding her large family once again, thanks to donated eggs, according to Das Bild newspaper. It doesn’t seem all that outrageous, but she just so happens to be 65-years-old.
The mother of 13, who also is a grandmother to 7, admitted to the German outlet that she was shocked to hear her handful of attempts at artificial insemination resulted in quadruplets. She also told the Bild that her doctor reportedly suggested reducing the number of fertilized embryos after it was discovered she was pregnant with quadruplets. Even though doctors warned her of the risks, Annegret decided against it.
“I’m not actually afraid,” the excited mom told the outlet in regards to her age. “I simply assume I’ll remain healthy and fit. In matters of organization, I have enough experience, that’s not new for me.”
Annegret Will Have Her Pregnancy Documented For TV
That’s not all. Annegret also has taken a page out of the Duggar playbook, because her parenting is going to be documented on the local RTL network show Extra. Yes, you will be able to see just how a 65-year-old woman parents 17 children, as well as juggle being a grandmother to seven grandchildren. Sounds exhausting!
Annegret is due this summer, according to RTL, and if the pregnancy is successfully carried to term, she will be the oldest recorded mother of quadruplets.
We just hope Annegret and her four babies continue to stay healthy!
