Congrats are in order! At the 2015 MTV Movie Awards, ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ walked away with the biggest prize of the night– and it made us shed a single tear!

At the 2015 MTV Movie Awards on Apr. 12, everyone was wondering who would walk away with the biggest prize of the evening: Movie of the Year, obviously. The category was super stacked with amazing nominees. Everyone from Boyhood to Guardians of the Galaxy was nominated. But, after much anticipation, The Fault in Our Stars ultimately emerged victorious!

‘The Fault In Our Stars’ Wins MTV Movie Of The Year

What a year for movies!

If all these incredible nominees in this category could teach us anything, it was that any one of these films was a worthy contender and could have walked away with the top prize. Alas, as we know, not all of them could and The Fault in Our Stars was certainly a worthy recipient of the honorable prize!

The film tells the story of a young woman (Shailene Woodley) who is stricken with cancer and finds hope and so much more within a young man (Ansel Elgort) with a thing or two to teach her.

Some Seriously Stiff Competition

Along with StarsBoyhood and Guardians of the Galaxy, also nominated in the competitive category was American SniperHunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, Gone Girl, Selma, Whiplash and The Fault in our Stars.

Right, as we said, picking between any of these movies is seriously impossible. So, hey, let’s just call it an nine way tie in our minds, and immediately binge watch all of them! Sound good? Good!

What did you think of Stars winning? Was it the right choice or would you have liked to see another film take the cake?
