‘The Vampire Diaries’: Nina Dobrev Would Return For A Future Movie

We’re still reeling from the fact that Nina Dobrev is leaving ‘The Vampire Diaries’ at the end of its current season, but this may not be the last time we see Elena Gilbert. has EXCLUSIVELY learned that Nina would return for both the series finale and a movie!

Nina Dobrev‘s exit from The Vampire Diaries has thrown the show’s future into question. With Nina, 26, leaving the series, fans have been wondering if TVD should even bother continuing past Season 6. On a positive note, however, has EXCLUSIVELY learned that Nina is willing to reprise her role as Elena Gilbert under certain circumstances.

Even though Nina confirmed the rumors that she’s leaving TVD, we now know that the series isn’t going anywhere and even better, TVD might actually make its way to the big screen. And if it does, Nina would make a triumphant return as Elena Gilbert.

“She would come back for a movie,” a source told EXCLUSIVELY!

As far as the series is concerned, “The show wants to give Nina her proper finish. She deserves it and many don’t want to bastardize that by adding her to next season, even in a guest spot situation,” an inside production source told, adding that with this being her last season, they want to “make it mean something.”

Aside from a future movie, “They would only consider having her return during the [series] finale,” the source added.

The show’s producers “have considered that when the show ends, they might to do a movie like what The X Files did when that show originally ended.”

It sounds like The Vampire Diaries wants to follow in The X-Files’ footsteps by releasing a theatrical film, which would include all actors, from past and present, for one big adventure.
