Look at Laney Boggs being a trend setter! In a world of reboots every day, it’s no surprise that yet another original movie will be redone. This time, it’s the 1999 favorite, ‘She’s All That!’
Another day, another remake! She’s All That, which originally starred Freddie Prinze Jr. and Rachael Leigh Cook along with a pretty star-studded ensemble, is reportedly coming back around, according to a new report. However, you expect a lot of diversity for this one. Freddie, who played the star of the film, Zach, took to Twitter to share his feelings about the reboot. Could we expect to see him as a guest star?
‘She’s All That’ Remake In The Works — What’s Freddie Prinze Jr. Think?
Are you ready for another Pretty Woman moment? Well, The Wrap is reporting that Weinstein Co. and Miramax are currently working on a new reboot of She’s All That! It will be directed by Kenny Leon and produced by Spike Lee‘s wife, Tonya Lewis Lee. The two have worked together previously on Hallmark’s The Watsons Go to Birmingham.
While they play to look into “diverse” lead roles, the lead of the original took to Twitter to share his opinion of the new film.
“Tough for writers with original scripts,” Freddie, 35, tweeted in response to an unhappy fan who tweeted at him, “You know, just Hollywood running out of ideas one more time. But what’s new?”
Well, one thing is for sure — the original had an amazing cast and I’d love to see one or two make cameos. In case you missed them (or forgot and desperately need to rematch) here’s some of the huge stars that had roles: the late Paul Walker, Usher, Anna Paquin, Li’l Kim, Jodi Lynn O’Keefe, Gabrielle Union, and Matthew Lillard — just to name a few.
What do you think about the classic film being redone? Are you a fan or do you think they should just leave the original be? Let us know!
