Kate Upton is known for her bikini body, but it turns out the sexy video that helped put her on the map, filmed by famed photographer Terry Richardson, wasn’t even supposed to be released — and she was initially horrified over it!
Feud alert? Kate Upton, 22, says she felt completely disrespected by fashion photographer Terry Richardson, 49, when he released a scandalous video of her dancing the “Cat Daddy” in nothing but a skimpy red bikini in 2012 — because, as it turns out, the model had absolutely no idea the clip was going to go public!
Kate Upton’s ‘Cat Daddy’ Video Released Without Her Consent
Can you believe Terry shared Kate’s sexy video without her permission!? She sure couldn’t, and she expresses her horrified sentiments over the situation in a new interview with Vogue U.K.
“The video received millions of hits on Youtube — not to mention a number of slow-motion versions of the more discerning customer — but, at the time, Upton was horrified because the behind-the-scenes video had been filmed for fun, not something she expected would make the final cut,” editor Alexa Chung writes.
“I was like, ‘That was disrespectful, you could have told me!” Kate tells the mag.
The video is three years old at this point, though, and she says that she hasn’t held a grudge. “Now, obviously, it’s fine,” she adds of her relationship with Terry.
Regardless of how she felt at the time, Kate certainly can’t deny the success she’s received ever since the video’s release. In fact, in 2014, she even received People Magazine’s top honor, being named the Sexiest Woman Alive!
“This is such an honor to me because sexy to me means someone who is confident and happy and that’s the person I always strive to be,” she announced, after receiving the award.
We’re sure her boyfriend, Justin Verlander, certainly isn’t complaining!
Tell us, HollywoodLifers — do you think Terry should’ve released the video without Kate’s permission? Or should she have not filmed it in the first place?
