The live Playoff Rounds are here and we’ve never been more ready! Team Blake and Team Pharrell’s singers sang first proving they deserve a spot in the next round!
The Playoff Rounds will be judged by America for the first time this season! During the April 6 episode, the incredible singers all fought for a spot in the top 12 which will be revealed later on in the week. We have the full recap on each and every talented contestant of the night!
‘The Voice’ Playoff Rounds Begin
Team Blake’s powerhouse Sarah Potenza took on a diverse rock song first. Singing “Free Bird” by Lynyrd Skynyrd, the unique artist was the first contestant of the night to perform and she killed it! “It was a cool interesting take on the song,” Adam told her afterwards and we agree!
Pop singer Caitlin Caporale from Team Pharrell took on an iconic Beyonce song next — “Best Thing I Never Had.” We had chills during her entire performance. She was flawless!
“You are really starting to show yourself as a threat,” Blake told her. That’s a huge compliment coming from last year’s winning coach!
Team Blake’s quirky dancer Hannah Kirby “I Feel The Earth Move,” by Carol King. She had blast on stage and totally showed off her amazing voice and confidence!
“That is entertainment,” Pharrell said to her after she finished singing and Christina said it was her favorite performance of the night!
Lowell Oakley from Team Blake took the stage next. The North Caroline oldies singer took on Nick Jonas‘ “Jealous” to prove he can be diverse and he did just that!
“I am really happy you were pushed to do this,” Adam said. He’s sounded great AND he’s adorable!
Mia Z Gives A Jaw-Dropping Performance
16-year-old blues singer Mia Z sang “Ain’t No Sunshine” next. She got a standing ovation, which wasn’t surprising because she’s literally SO amazing. How can she be only 16!?
Blake told her that if there was one singer he could have on his team it would be her!
Team Pharrell’s 17-year-old pop singer Koryn Hawthorne showed off her soulful side by singing “How Great Thou Art.”
The judges were blown away by her amazing performance! “The emotion you had was spot on, couldn’t have been better,” Christina told her.
The only country artist in the competition, Corey Kent White, gave an emotional performance next. His grandfather passed away after the Knockout rounds and he channeled all of his energy into singing “To Make You Feel My Love.”
“There could have been a little more,” Adam said to him afterwards and Blake surprisingly backed him up but we think Corey was great!
Team Blake’s Brooke Adee sang “Love Me Like You Do,” and we were loving every second! Adam thought it was a bit too stiff but we think Brooke was awesome and she looked so pretty!
Meghan Linsey from Team Blake took the stage next. She sang “Love Runs Out” and proved she can be current and diverse.
“SO great,” Christina shouted over the audiences screams after Meghan’s performance!
Closing out the night was 16-year-old Sawyer Fredricks from Team Pharrell. He sang “Trouble” and definitely proved he deserves a spot in the next round. To be honest, he deserves a spot in the finale!
