Fredric Brandt Dead: Celebrity Dermatologist Found In Miami Home
Fredric was reportedly found dead in his Miami mansion by his housekeeper. He had been battling an undisclosed illness, his publicist said, according to New York Daily News. However, Miami police confirmed to HollywoodLife.com that Fredric died from hanging himself in his home.
Fredric was one of the premier celebrity dermatologists. Stars would flock to him to achieve a perfect complexion and youthful appearance. Madonna was one of his top clients. In an interview with the New York Times, she said, “If I have nice skin, I owe a lot to him.”
He was well known for “signature Y lifts” in which he would inject fillers like Botox below the cheekbone, according to New York Daily News. He had a successful dermatology practice in Miami before heading to Manhattan to open an office in 1998.
Fredric was not opposed to practicing his plastic surgery techniques on himself. “I’ve been kind of a pioneer in pushing the limits to see how things work and what the look would be,” Brandt told the New York Times. “Would I change anything I’ve done? I might not have used as much Botox, because you don’t want to look quite as frozen.”
His ultimate goal as a dermatologist was “to keep people working and feeling vital and good about themselves.”
“I want people to feel they haven’t given up on life and are still in the game,” he continued.
Our thoughts are with Frederic’s family and friends during this difficult time. He will be missed.
