The world makes sense again! Destiny’s Child is planning a 10-year reunion tour AND album, according to a new report. Commence your fangirl freakout now, and read on for the exciting details!
Beyoncé, 33, Kelly Rowland, 34, and Michelle Williams, 34, reportedly want to reunite to put out their first album since their split in 2006, but there’s only one problem — they won’t be able to use their former group name Destiny’s Child! Find out why!
Destiny’s Child Reunion Tour & Album – Report
“Although Destiny’s Child is made up of the three ladies, Beyoncé’s father and former manager Mathew Knowles owns one-fourth of the group as well. Anytime they do anything under the name Destiny’s Child, he has involvement in it and money from it,” an insider close to the girls revealed to Daily Mail Online.
The source claims that none of the girls want any involvement with Mathew when it comes to this reunion. Although the girls are so excited about this possible album and tour, they are not sure how to navigate around Mathew’s involvement.
“The problem is they can’t figure out how to nix Mathew from the deal. They all want more than anything to give the fans one last run of the group, especially since they all have their own individual success, but don’t want to deal with Mathew,” the source went on.
“At best they maybe could offer him a flat rate or one-time settlement to buy out his portion of the group, but otherwise we may never get a Destiny’s Child reunion because none of them want him to benefit financially,” the source explained.
HollywoodLife.com has reached out to their camps for official comment on the reunion! Well, we hope they work something out with Mathew because this reunion seriously NEEDS to happen!
