The remaining One Direction boys recently gave an all-new interview, and Zayn was worried stiff about it. HollywoodLife.com has learned EXCLUSIVELY that Zayn is thankful that his former bandmates didn’t slam him over his decision to leave the band.

Phew! Zayn Malik, 22, breathed a huge sigh of relief when he read the newest interview from his former One Direction bandmates, HollywoodLife.com has EXCLUSIVELY learned. Instead of blasting him for leaving, they revealed they were “gutted” by Zayn’s exit. It was One Direction’s first joint interview since Zayn sensationally walked out of the band, and he was floored by their response.

Zayn Malik’s Reaction To One Direction’s New Interview

“The comments by Liam that said they were gutted hit home for him — he never intended of letting the boys down but knew it just wasn’t for him anymore,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “He was thankful that none of them slammed him because he was a little worried one of them might. Instead, he thought that they were very respectful for what he’s going through and understood his plight. There’s no animosity.”

How sweet! At this point, there’s no reason to harbor any anger or resentment. What’s done is done.

As we previously reported, the 1D lads gave their first post-Zayn interview to The Sun and revealed how they feel about his departure and what it’s like without him.

“It’s been a tough few weeks, probably the toughest since the band was formed five years ago. We’re gutted that Zayn chose to leave, but now after a few performances as a four piece, we’re feeling confident and are determined to carry on stronger than ever,” Liam told The Sun.

Zayn Malik — Moving On After Quitting One Direction

As bizarre and sudden as Zayn’s departure was, it appears that everyone is beginning to move along as the dust settles. Zayn is now on a much-needed vacation with fiancee Perrie Edwards in France, where Zayn is de-stressing from the hectic months.

The band has vowed to continue as a four-piece, while Zayn is working on his solo career with rapper Naughty Boy. There was a little bit of drama between Naughty Boy and One Direction, but the tide has seemed to have shifted.

What d’you think, HollywoodLifers? Do you think the 1D boys should’ve trashed Zayn after quitting the band so suddenly? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
