Surprise! Norman Reedus dropped by ‘SNL”s ‘Weekend Update’, crossbow in hand, as his beloved ‘Walking Dead’ character Daryl Dixon — and he takes a shot at a cast member who he thinks is a zombie! But let’s be honest, we don’t blame him. Watch Norman’s hilarious cameo here!
As we all know, Daryl Dixon is not a fan of zombies. So when Norman Reedus, 46, dropped by Saturday Night Live’s “Weekend Update” on April 4, the crossbow-shooting connoisseur stepped up to duty after he believes SNL‘s “resident young person”, Pete Davidson, to be a zombie because he’s high. Watch the hilarious action go down!
Norman Reedus On ‘SNL’: He Makes Special Appearance As Daryl Dixon
Fans are still in shock from the season 5 finale of The Walking Dead, and it’s still resonating with Pete — probably a little more than most!
As he reveals to “Weekend Update” host Colin Jost, Pete is freaking out that the zombie apocalypse will happen in the near future, and that he will be mistaken for a zombie because he’s constantly high! He says odds are that he will be high when it happens, especially if it happens between the hours of daytime and nighttime. (LOL.)
“First off, it’ll probably take me hours to even notice what’s going on. I’ll be like, ‘Wow, Mrs. Carmichael from downstairs can’t keep her hands off of me today, But hold up isn’t she like 88? But hold up, didn’t she used to have a jaw?'” Pete says, before going on a rant about Jawbreakers candy.
Pete then recognizes that it’s the people he has to worry about, and not the zombies!
“They’re going to shoot me. When I’m high it’s really easy to mistake me for a zombie.” Pete says. “My eyes are glazed and bloodshot, I’m sluggish, I’m hunched over and shuffling cause that’s how I walk normally.”
After Colin assures Pete that he won’t be mistaken for a zombie, an arrow strikes poor Pete in the chest — and out walks good ol’ Daryl Dixon!
People of course are super surprised to see Norman dressed exactly as his Walking Dead character, who we know to be the top zombie hunter on the show. When Colin tells Daryl Pete is not a zombie, he is super taken aback because of Pete’s complexion and “slow” movements.
“It’s just good weed, man,” Pete says. Daryl and Pete then skip off together to get high. So funny!
