Michael’s ‘SNL’ return wouldn’t have been complete without some Batman and Beetlejuice action. After some begging from the ‘SNL’ cast, Michael revived two of his classic alter egos — in a very funny way. Click to WATCH!
Michael Keaton, 63, donned his famous Batman and Beetlejuice outfits in a roundabout way on the April 4 episode of Saturday Night Live. Bobby Moynihan, 38, and Taran Killam, 33, pleaded with the Birdman star to reprise his iconic roles, and Michael bestowed fans with an epic moment at the end of his opening monologue.
Michael Keaton On ‘Saturday Night Live’ — Revives Batman & Beetlejuice
Michael had to know his Batman and Beetlejuice characters were going to be a topic of conversation when he returned to SNL on April 4. But he probably didn’t anticipate his entire monologue basically being dedicated to them.
Taran and Bobby surprised Michael during this monologue and totally fangirled out. They praised Michael for his roles as the brooding superhero and the mischievous ghost. Even if Michael didn’t want to suit up again, Taran and Bobby found a way to make it happen anyway.
Flawlessly dressed as The Joker and The Penguin, Taran and Bobby put Michael back in Batman suit with a little special effects help. They did the same thing with Beetlejuice. It was hilarious.
At this point, Michael had to give his fans something. Michael stopped the music and said right to the camera, “I’m Batman.” Even after all these years, swoon. Michael made Batman hot way before Christian Bale or Ben Affleck. Sorry, not sorry.
Then, Michael grabbed Taran and Bobby and declared in his Beetlejuice voice, “It’s showtime!”
