Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan are finally opening up about Zayn’s abrupt exit from One Direction. In a new interview, the now four-piece band confessed that they’re ‘gutted’ by the 22-year-old quitting. Find out what else they said!
We still can’t believe that One Direction is now a four-piece band, but Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, and Niall Horan sort of made it official by giving their first post-Zayn Malik exit interview. During it, they revealed how they feel about Zayn’s departure and what it’s now like without him.
One Direction Interview: Band Speaks After Zayn Malik Quits — We’re ‘Gutted’
“It’s been a tough few weeks, probably the toughest since the band was formed five years ago. We’re gutted that Zayn chose to leave, but now after a few performances as a four piece, we’re feeling confident and are determined to carry on stronger than ever,” Liam told The Sun.
Poor Harry, Louis, Liam and Niall. We can only imagine that Zayn’s abrupt exit was a huge surprise to them, but we commend them for continuing on with the band and giving the fans what they deserve.
One Direction: Who’s Singing Zayn Malik Solo Parts? List Reveals All
And now that the band’s without Zayn, someone has to fill in and take on all of his solos with the high notes. As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, it seems as though Liam has been picking up a bulk of the extra work. According to a list posted on Twitter, Liam has picked up 14 out of Zayn’s 25 solos. Both Niall and Harry have taken over four, leaving Louis to cover the remaining three songs.
It’s nice to see that these four guys can do the work of five, but we’re not surprised. There’s a reason why One Direction is so successful. They work hard and it shows. We wish them all the best moving forward.
