Kelly Clarkson has been getting a ton of mean energy thrown in her direction lately. However, the superstar recently dropped by ‘Ellen,’ and had a couple of words to share with her haters.

Hey fat-shaming haters, Kelly Clarkson has heard you– and she is so far beyond your unnecessary cruelty. The “Heartbreak Song” singer hangs out with Ellen DeGeneres on Apr. 3 and, when asked about the influx of weight-centric criticism she’s received lately, Kelly explained the dangers of such unwarranted hatred, and she had basically the best response ever. Spoiler: it involves drinking wine!

Kelly Clarkson is loving life.

The mom to 9-month-old baby River is still head over heels for her little lady. While sharing footage of the adorable baby in the recording studio–wearing giant headphones on her lil’ noggin– Kelly joked, “we’re starting her young!”

However, the conversation did take a more serious turn, as the subject shifted to Kelly’s detractors. “I do want to address,” Ellen said. “I know that you’ve been getting a lot of criticism.”

Though Kelly said she doesn’t really let the weight hate bother her, she gets much more upset about how such criticism affects other people, particularly her fans.

“I think what hurts my feelings for people is that I’ll go and have a meet and greet after a show,” she said. “And a girl that’s, like, bigger than me will be in the meet and greet and be like, ‘Oh God, if they think you’re big I must be so fat to them,'” Kelly said.

Kelly Clarkson Tells Off The Haters

Kelly has a pretty great sense of humor about the whole thing, though.

“I love how people think that’s new,” she laughed, before sharing her inspirational thoughts. “You’re just who you are– you are who you are,” she said to huge cheers from the audience. “Sometimes I’m more fit and I get into kick boxing hardcore and then sometimes I don’t and I’m like, I’d rather have wine!”

Um, we definitely hear that, Kelly!

It seems like she has a great outlook on this whole thing!

What do you think of Kelly’s words to the haters?
