More sad news for Big Ang. A new report claims that not only is her massive throat tumor cancerous, but she is still waiting on test results to find out if the cancer has spread inside her body.
It’s been a rough couple of days for Big Ang, 51. Just recently, doctors discovered a tumor the size of a lemon in the Mob Wives star’s throat, and her sister, Janine Detore, confirmed on April 3 that, unfortunately, it’s cancerous. Find out what’s next for the reality star as she faces this scary battle.
Big Ang’s Throat Tumor & Cancer: ‘Mob Wives’ Is Malignant
Doctors were able to determine that Ang’s tumor was malignant after looking at it with a scope and running blood tests, her sister, Janine, tells TMZ. The 51-year-old is scheduled to have surgery next week to remove the tumor, which will be a huge relief to her and her family.
Unfortunately, once the surgery is done, the ordeal won’t be over. Ang and her family are currently waiting for test results to see if the cancer has spread, and if it has, further action will obviously have to be taken. “We are hoping for the best and are focusing on getting through the holiday,” Janine says. “We love the fans and want to thank them.”
This is so sad. Thankfully, Ang remains in good spirits and even shared a picture of herself that reveals the lemon-sized tumor on her Facebook page.
Ang was originally hospitalized after complaining of neck pain, which is when doctors found the terrifying tumor.
Will Big Ang’s Cancer Battle Appear On ‘Mob Wives’?
Ang has always been incredibly open with her fans, and has shared her personal life on Mob Wives for five seasons. According to Janine, though, none of this ordeal has been filmed for the show just yet. That’s probably a good thing.
However, that doesn’t mean it won’t be addressed at some point. Plus, Ang was scheduled to begin shooting another reality series when she started experiencing the neck pain, so perhaps if that project is still a go, she’ll openly discuss it there.
Our thoughts are with Big Ang and her family during this difficult time and we’re wishing her a speedy recovery!
