Nope, this is not a joke. Comedy superstars Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig will team up to star in a new movie ‘A Deadly Adoption’– on Lifetime!

Talk about a surprising career move! Legendary actor/comedians Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig could probably write or star in any movie they want, and apparently that movie is on Lifetime! The two will join forces and star in the upcoming film A Deadly Adoption, a dramatic thriller, which will air on Lifetime early this summer. We’ve got all the deets!

Will Ferrell & Kristen Wiig’s Lifetime Movie

Well, why not?

Comedy fans have been waiting for a feature film starring Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig for what seems like forever. Finally, we are getting what we wished for– kinda!

In A Deadly Adoption, Will and Kristen will play a successful couple who take in and tend to a pregnant woman (Jessica Lowndes), with the intent to adopt her unborn child. Of course, because we are talking about a Lifetime movie, the situation takes a turn and things get out of hand.

An Interesting Career Move

The film, which has already been shot (those sneaky guys!), will be produced by Will and his longtime partner, Adam McKay. Described as campy and fun, it is meant to serve as a contemporary wink at the genre, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The exciting project comes just as Lifetime is preparing to celebrate 25 years in the television movie business.

Though A Deadly Adoption will mark the first time in which Will and Kristen will equally share the screen on a project, it’s not the first time that the two Saturday Night Live alums have worked together. Most notably, Kristen appeared in both Anchorman films, in which Will, obviously, starred. Additionally, they presented together at the 2013 Golden Globes, in what remains one of the funniest bits of all time.

What do you think of Will and Kristen starring in a Lifetime movie?
