Congratulations, Taylor Swift! At the iHeart Radio Music Awards, she won 3 awards — including the biggest of the night: Artist of the Year!
This has been a HUGE year for Taylor Swift, 25. We’re thrilled that she won Artist of the Year at the 2015 iHeartRadio Music Awards at The Shrine Auditorium on March 29 in L.A.! Her acceptance speech was gracious and of course honored her Swifties!
Taylor Swift Wins iHeartRadio Music Award For Artist Of The Year 2015
Okay, was anyone truly surprised that Tay won? She’s on top of the world, and we’re loving it!
Taylor mentioned her parents, of course, but then spent the remainder of the time thanking her fans when she took the stage, thereby beating out Ariana Grande, Iggy Azalea, Luke Bryan, and Sam Smith, for the iHeartRadio Artist of the Year award.
Tay is famous for her copious number one hits, but also for her amazing relationship with her fans.
“I’m so proud of the fact that having done this for 10 years now, we’ve gotten closer and closer with each year, not further apart,” Taylor said in her acceptance speech. “I love knowing your stories, thank you for joking around with me on Instagram and Twitter and Tumblr. You make me so happy.”
iHeartRadioMusic Awards — Big Performances & Winners Of The Night
We’ve been privileged to witness this huge night for music, and enjoyed performances from a few of our fave artists. Kelly Clarkson‘s rendition of “Heartbeat Song” was both fitting and fun, and Iggy Azalea and Jennifer Hudson‘s performance of “Trouble” was undeniably badass!
As for a few of the winners, a very deserving Sam Smith took the Best New Artist award, and Jason Aldean won Country Song of the Year for “Burnin’ It Down”. TSwift swept the awards, though, and won Best Lyrics for “Blank Space”, and Song of the Year for “Shake It Off”. She’ll just have to find room for the trophies in her already extensive collection!
So, HollywoodLifers, let us know what you think about Tay winning! Do you agree with the fans’ choice for Artist of the Year, or should someone else have gotten it?
