Say it isn’t so! Hugh Jackman, 46, who simply IS Wolverine has dropped a massive clue that he’s ready to quit the franchise. The hunky Aussie actor posted a photo of his superhero’s claws attached to his right hand with one cryptic caption that will likely have X-Men fans everywhere freaking out!
Hugh Jackman As Wolverine: Actor Hints ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Is Last Movie
Brace yourselves, Wolverine fans. X-Men: Apocalypse might be Hugh’s final film as his epic superhero. The actor posted a picture on his Instagram and Facebook with the caption: “WOLVERINE…ONE LAST TIME. HJ”
What?! You can’t just leave us hanging like that, Hugh!
Hugh last appeared as the mutant in X-Men: Days of Future Past, and moviemakers had said that they were planning a brand new Wolverine project slated for March, 3 2017, which he is clearly teasing us with here. However, there has been no official confirmation that Hugh will appear in X-Men: Apocalypse, but Hugh seems to be saying that the film will be his last as the superhero. The film is also Jennifer Lawrence’s last outing as Mystique.
Hugh’s last solo film as the character, The Wolverine, grossed over $400,000,000 worldwide, so making a third movie for the studio is a no-brainer. But could they ever replace him in the lead role? It’s happened with Spider-Man, Batman and Superman, but there can only be one Wolverine, right?
Hugh Jackman: Tackling Impressive Hollywood Roles
In addition to filming X-Men: Apocalypse, Hugh is currently shooting Eddie the Eagle in Austria, which is the story of Great Britain’s first ski jumper to enter the Winter Olympics. Sounds like an Oscar contender!
Coming up in July 2015, Hugh’s new movie, Pan, will hit theaters. Hugh plays the formidable Blackbeard and even shaved his head for the role! From the looks of the trailer, it’s going to be incredible!
What d’you think HollywoodLifers? Could anyone replace Hugh as Wolverine? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
