It seems that Raven-Symoné got a little confused about her continents and countries! The ‘That’s So Raven’ star couldn’t distinguish between the two while discussing her ancestry in an interview with E! News. Click to WATCH!
Oops! It looks like someone wasn’t so good at geography in school! Raven-Symoné, 29, got her continents and countries totally mixed up during an interview with E! News when asked about her ancestry. She said she was from “every continent” in Africa and Europe. Um, what?
Raven-Symoné Interview: Confuses Continents & Countries
“I never said I wasn’t black, I said I wasn’t African American – to me that’s a difference,” she proudly exclaimed. “Thank you to Ancestry.com for sending me my DNA test. I am from every continent in Africa except for one… and I’m also from every continent in Europe except for one.”
Oh no! Talk about a double geography fail.
Fortunately, Raven’s comments about embracing our “melting pot of beauty” are far more important than her little geographical mix-up.
“We are a melting pot of beauty,” she continued. “We have to embrace the different cultures we have. And if you don’t, we’re still gonna have these problems that are blasting up everywhere. Call me hippie, call me a free-thinker, call me someone that’s looking for a better life, but I wanna be in a better world.”
In an interview on Oprah’s Where Are They Now?, Raven raised eyebrows when she was asked about her love life and revealed she was in a relationship with a woman. “I don’t want to be labeled gay,” she told the host. “I want to be labeled a human who loves humans. I’m tired of being labeled. I’m an American, I’m not an African-American. I’m an American.”
Her geography skills may be lacking, but at least her heart is in the right place, right? Still, she wouldn’t have given any contestants on Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader? a run for their money!
What d’you think, HollywoodLifers? Is it that surprising a former child star doesn’t know the difference between her countries and continents? Let us know!
