One Direction: Replacing Zayn Malik With New Band Member? The Truth

Sat, March 28, 2015 9:39am EDT by 51 Comments

First there were five, now there are four. But could One Direction really consider replacing Zayn? HollywoodLife.com has EXCLUSIVELY learned whether or not that will happen. Here’s the scoop.

Zayn Malik, 22, really ripped the heart out of One Direction and their adoring fans when he announced he was leaving the band for good on March 25. With rumors running rampant, HollywoodLife.com has found out EXCLUSIVELY if Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan could end up welcoming a new member to replace Zayn in the mega-popular boy band.

One Direction Replacing Zayn Malik?

“Not that this should be a surprise whatsoever to anyone, but One Direction will never add a new member to the group.” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “So all the new members rumored and the Wikipedia changes will always be clearly a joke!”

Yep, Directioners can take a deep breath. Harry, Liam, Louis and Niall will continue on as just a group of four. “Just like Take That did when Robbie Williams left the group, they continued to tour and make hit records,” another insider revealed to HollywoodLife.com “And the record label wouldn’t want to chance causing disharmony between the four remaining members by introducing a new face.”

Zayn walked out on the band’s “On the Road Again” world tour on March 19 — signing off because of “stress.” Just days before, the singer was caught allegedly holding hands with Lauren Richardson, someone who was most definitely not his fiancée Perrie Edwards. Pause to take a breath!

Now, as Zayn begins life after 1D, it appears his relationship with Perrie is still going strong after he admitted to The Sun newspaper in the UK that she has been very supportive of his decision to leave the band.

Zayn Malik’s Next Move: Going Solo

Zayn revealed in his first post-One Direction that he was already making moves for a solo career. “I think I’m just going to write and relax and chill,” Zayn told The Sun.

Producer and artist Naughty Boy confirmed in early March 2015 that Zayn would appear on his next album. HollywoodLife.com learned EXCLUSIVELY in Feb. 2015 that Zayn had plans for a solo rap career. Sounds like he’s ready to make that happen!

However, it would be a shame if we didn’t hear Zayn’s falsetto ever again! After all, he did have one of the best voices in the band!
