There is some controversy in the country music world! Little Big Town’s latest chart-topping single ‘Girl Crush’ is being pulled from radio stations across the country for having ‘inappropriate’ lyrics — yikes!

Country music fans have been calling into radio stations to complain about Little Big Town’s song “Girl Crush.” They think the lyrics are too racy and promote a “gay agenda” — see the lyrics and find out what the band thinks of this whole ordeal!

Little Big Town’s ‘Girl Crush’ Controversy — Fans Want It Off Radio

Here are the supposed “racy” lyrics:

I want to taste her lips, yeah ’cause they taste like you/ I want to drown myself in a bottle of her perfume/ I want her long blond hair, I want her magic touch/ Yeah ’cause maybe then, you’d want me just as much/ I got a girl crush.

Fans threatened to boycott a Boise, Idaho country radio station saying the song “promot[es] the gay agenda,” radio host Alana Lynn told the paper.

Kimberly Schlapman of Little Big Town explained that the song isn’t even about a woman loving another woman.

“This woman is just looking at the woman her man left her for and wondering, ‘What does she have that I don’t have? What am I missing? What is it that she’s giving you that I can’t give you?'” she explained in a Vevo interview.

“Country music was built on songs about heartache and jealousy,” Little Big Town’s Phillip Sweet also added in the interview.

Country singer Charlie Worsham had a few things to say about this controversy:

HollywoodLifers, have a listen and let us know what you think about the lyrics in the comments below. Are they too racy or are people overreacting?
