It’s not everyday you hear someone compare themselves to a kangaroo. Drew Barrymore got extremely candid discussing her post-baby body in a new interview and compared herself to one of Australia’s beloved marsupials.
Drew Barrymore, 40, is a proud mother of two precious little girls, Olive, 2, and Frankie, 11 months, but after giving birth she found it hard to love herself. The Never Been Kissed actress opened up in a recent interview about her struggle to love her post-baby body.
Drew Barrymore Reveals She Felt Like A Kangaroo After Babies
“After making two babies, holy cow, does your body do some crazy stuff! It’s hard to stay positive and love yourself,” she admitted. “You feel like a kangaroo with a giant pouch; everything’s saggy and weird.”
The Miss You Already star continued to say, “But you think about how beautiful it is that you’re able to make children. When I lose sight of that, I exercise, read Dr. Seuss’s Oh, the Places You’ll Go!, and spend time with my kids. Then I start to see things that are bigger than myself.”
We think Drew is gorgeous and opening up about her insecurities just makes her even more beautiful.
Drew Knows The Key To Taking The Perfect Selfie
Drew also gave her secrets to capturing the perfect selfie. “You don’t always have to look stunning on Instagram,” she told the magazine. “I’ve been makeupless, pregnant, and stuffing food in my face in many pictures; that makes it all the more exciting when I do do something more attractive.” Hilarious, there’s the sense of humor we love.
She went on to say, “I don’t like it when everyone looks so perfect all the time. Where’s the humor in that?” We couldn’t agree more Drew.
