We’re getting another familiar face! Vivica A. Fox, who starred in the original ‘Independence Day,’ has just been confirmed to star in the film’s upcoming sequel! So, what about her onscreen hubby Will Smith?
Welcome back, Jasmine Dubrow! Vivica A. Fox, who played the stripper turned wife to Will Smith‘s Captain Steven Hiller in Independence Day, is officially on board to reprise her role for the film’s upcoming sequel. The film, titled ID Forever, will hit theaters in June, 2016 and, with the return of his onscreen wife now confirmed, we have to wonder if the prospects for Will’s return have improved!
‘Independence Day 2’: Vivica A. Fox Is Returning
It’s not too late, Will!
Sadly, it seems that there are still no plans for Will to return to the franchise. Roland Emmerich, the director of both films, took to Twitter to confirm Vivica’s return. Posting a photo of he and the gorgeous actress, Roland wrote, “Exciting news… just officially closed @MsVivicaFox for #IndependenceDay! Here’s the pic!”
Some Familiar Faces
Though it’s still looking like Will won’t return for ID Forever, we will be getting additional familiar faces alongside Vivica. Also confirmed by Roland to return is original star Jeff Goldblum, who will be reprising his role as David Levinson.
Along with those returning cast members, Jessie Usher has been confirmed to headline the film, playing the role originated by Will. So, the chances of Will appearing in the film appear to be getting less and less likely, but hey, it ain’t over ’til it’s over!
Are you excited to see Vivica return for the sequel?
