Vin Diesel, 47, will never forget Paul Walker, and he’s making sure that everyone knows just how important Furious 7 is to him. At a recent screening of the film, Vin broke down while talking to fans as he paid tribute to his “brother” and dedicated the film to Paul.
It’s been over a year since Paul’s tragic death, but with the upcoming release of Furious 7 right around the corner, Vin’s emotions are running high. At one point during his speech, Vin fell silent because talking about Paul still struck a vulnerable chord inside of him.
“It was in some ways the hardest movie I ever had to do because the relationships that you see on film are so real,” Vin said at the screening. “When the tragedy happened, I lost my best friend. I lost my brother.”
This is Paul’s last film appearance in the Fast & Furious franchise. Vin wants to make sure it’s the best send-off Paul could have ever asked for.
“Please from my heart, know that we made this movie from our hearts,” Vin continued. “And know that this is our gift to you and more importantly, it’s for my brother there.” Vin then pointed to a picture of Paul on the big screen.
Excuse us, we’re just in a puddle of our own emotions and tears. It’s hard to believe that this is Paul’s bow in a movie.
Dom (Vin) and Brian (Paul) are teaming up for one last ride in the franchise’s seventh installment. From the looks of it, this is going to be one epic tribute.
In a voice-over, Vin’s character says, “The most important thing in life will always be the people right here, right now. That’s what’s real.” The entire Fast & Furious crew is then seen sitting around a table like family. Cue all the emotions.
With epic car crashes and a car crashing through an actual window, Furious 7 is going to be one hell of a ride. Furious 7 hits theaters April 3.
