Uh oh. Why is Meghan Trainor being called sexist? Unfortunately, it has to do with her new music video, ‘Dear Future Husband,’ which shows her being the ‘perfect’ wife baking in the kitchen and scrubbing the floors. Click inside to WATCH!

Meghan Trainor, 2, has come under fire for her latest music video, “Dear Future Husband.” A new report claims that many of her fans are upset with their favorite singer for portraying the extremely sexist version of what a wife should look like. So, are they being too harsh on Meghan or is there really reason for concern?

Meghan Trainor’s ‘Sexist’ ‘Dear Future Husband’ Video — Watch

Is everyone’s favorite new pop star sending the wrong message in this new music video? Apparently, some of her fans think so!

“Meghan Trainor’s new #DearFutureHusbandvideo is catchy, but probably the most sexist thing I’ve seen in a while,” said one Twitter user after watching it, reports Fox News.

Unfortunately, it seems like the sexist claims are a little misplaced. In fact, by watching the video and listening closely to Meghan’s lyrics, you can tell that she’s clearly mocking the idea of being a “perfect” housewife.

For instance, as Meghan sings the line “don’t be thinking I’ll be home and baking apple pies,” she pulls a pie out of the oven that is completely on fire! And the line right before that mentions how she has her own job, too, so he shouldn’t expect her to be in the kitchen all day. Good for you, Meghan!

Meghan Just Wants To Be Treated Right

Thankfully, not everyone finds Meghan’s video to be offensive to women. Many fans are also defending the video because they see and hear the same thing does: Meghan’s independent spirit and humor!

In the song, Meghan reminds her future husband to bring her flowers every anniversary, to tell her she’s beautiful every night, and to open doors for her when they go out together. Sure, we can all open doors for ourselves, but it’s nice to have someone who cares enough to do it for you when they’re with you, isn’t it?

At the end of the video, Meghan ends up picking the guy who shows up at her door with a freshly baked pizza over the guys who showed up with chocolate and flowers. She’s definitely got the right idea!
