Justin Bieber, 21, is really over being considered a “bad boy” after a series of poor decisions he made while growing up in the spotlight. In a new interview with Ellen DeGeneres on March 18, the recent birthday boy admits that he didn’t know how to deal with fame at such a young age, and that was one of the main causes behind him being a total jerk to the world.

It’s definitely true that nothing and no one can prepare you for fame, especially Bieber-sized fame, but is that an excuse to act out? Not necessarily, but it’s good to remember the people make mistakes. Even Justin makes mistakes!

“I just want people to know that that’s not me, and I was doing stuff that wasn’t me, and a lot of times we pretend so that we can fit in and then we end up looking like a d–chebag,” Justin explained to Ellen, hoping to finally be understood.

Ellen made sure to bring up the fact that Justin became extremely famous at a very young age, which definitely didn’t help his situation. He could not have agreed with her more.

“I really just didn’t, I didn’t know how to handle it. It went to my head, and I had to let people pull me down to see the truth and see how much of a jerk I was being,” he added.

Let’s be honest, Justin seems really genuinely sorry for the way that he acted once upon a time. Now, hopefully, he’s moved on and is ready to focus on his career and stay positive again!
