It’s crunch time for the Duggar family. In this week’s episode of ’19 Kids and Counting,’ the family scrambles to get all the final details of Jessa and Ben Seewald’s wedding plans finished, while Jill and Derick go on a double date.
On the March 17 episode of 19 Kids & Counting, the Duggar family comes together to prep for Jessa‘s big day which is only days away. Jim Bob and Michelle spend quality time with the kids and decide to have a messy pizza making party.
’19 Kids & Counting’ Recap: Final Arrangements Get Made For The Wedding
The episode starts out with Jessa and Ben going to the court house to get their marriage license. We quickly learn that there might be a problem with the minister who is set to officiate their wedding. Mike Shadt who is a good friend of theirs needs to have proper paperwork, but he is out of the country until the wedding.
Michelle uses hers and grandma Duggar’s wedding dress to make Jessa a very special gift. She wants her daughter to have a piece of the two dress and to set it inside her wedding bouquet. Michelle and grandma will present the bride with the gift on her big day.
Later in the episode the wedding coordinator, Sierra comes over to make brownies with a few of the Duggar children for the reception’s ice cream bar that needs to feed over 1000 people. It winds up be a successful test run for the big day.
Jessa and Ben’s wedding bands were finished, so the couple made one last stop to the jewelry store. Ben still continued to keep her ring a surprise until the big day, which is ok with Jessa, because she wants to keep her dress a secret. They then part ways so Jessa can go try on her wedding dress one last time before the official day.
Jim Bob Shows Off His Pizza Tossing Skills
Jim Bob and Michelle spent quality time with the younger children by having a family pizza making night. Jim tried to impress the kids with his pizza making skills, but his kids admitted that he needs to work on the dough tossing part. Some of the Duggar siblings decide to use unusual ingredients for their personal pizzas, like pickles. The Duggars went through 7 lbs of cheese and 8 lbs of sauce for their homemade pizza party.
While the Duggars clean up the messy kitchen, Jill and Derick go on a double date with Jessa and Ben to a painting class. Each couple had to work together to create a love tree. While there, Jill and Derick give the other couple advice about wedding planning and marriage. Derick tells them to budget well and try to spend all of their extra time together.
Jessa’s Parents Give Her & Ben Marriage Counseling
Jim Bob and Michelle gave marriage counseling to Jill and Derick before their big day, and now they’re doing a final session with Jessa and Ben. Jim Bob states that after marriage, a big piece of focus for a guy is the physical aspect, but for the woman it’s communicating. Michelle also believes that without communication, you won’t know where you’re headed as a couple. The Duggar dad also shows the young couple the best way to kiss, which wasn’t as awkward as you would think. Ben then reveals that they are saving their first kiss for their wedding day.
Anna and her children fly to Arkansas for the wedding, while Josh has to stay behind for a few more days. Making them the first official wedding guests to arrive — the calm before the storm.
