Yes, the (so so sad) rumors are true — Jessica Lange is officially done with her run in ‘American Horror Story’ after four amazing seasons.
Jessica Lange received a standing ovation at PaleyFest on March 15 — and by the end, the crowd was booing. Of course, that was because she finally publicly came out and said “I’m done,” when asked if she would be continuing her time on American Horror Story.
Jessica Lange Leaving ‘American Horror Story’
“Yes, I’m done,” she said at Dolby Theater in LA. “We’ve had a great run here. I have absolutely loved doing these four characters that I’ve had the opportunity to play. In all the madness, I’ve loved the writers, my actors, Ryan [Murphy] and the whole, I mean, insanity of it, shooting here, shooting in New Orleans, the stories, everything.”
She was also asked which of her characters was her favorite — to which she answered, “Elsa Mars,” the character she played in AHS: Freak Show. It could be because she knew it was her last, or because she was amazing, but either way, we’ll take it.
We’re not sure who will take over the lead role in AHS, but we do know that fans absolutely freaked out when Lady Gaga was cast — will she be taking over as the leading lady?
We also know that Matt Bomer and Cheyenne Jackson are joining next season, which will be themed, “Hotel.” It already sounds creepy but we know that with this cast, there’s no way it will be disappointing!
While I’m a Gaga fan for sure, no one will ever be able to take Jessica Lange’s place, right? Are you sad to see Jessica go or do you think it’s the right time? Let us know what you think, HollywoodLifers?
