Our Gryffindor feels are totally tingling! A new round of casting for the upcoming live action ‘Beauty and the Beast’ has just been announced, and it’s reuniting star Emma Watson with one of her ‘Harry Potter’ costars!
This is kinda shaping up to be the best Disney movie ever! Along with announcing a Mar. 17, 2017 release date, a new round of casting for the live action remake of Beauty and the Beast has just been announced and we are basically giddy. Emma Watson, best known for playing girl genius/wizard Hermoine in the Harry Potter franchise, has been perfectly cast as Belle and, it’s now been confirmed, that the film will reunite her with one of her Harry Potter costars!
‘Beauty & The Beast’: Emma Thompson To Play Mrs. Potts
We’re getting some double Emma action in Beauty and the Beast!
Emma Thompson has officially signed on to play Mrs. Potts in the reinvented classic. This will not be the first time the two Emmas have shared the screen, either. Emma Thompson played Professor Sybil Trelawney in three of the Harry Potter films, in which Emma Watson arguably became a star.
Also joining the cast will be Kevin Kline, playing Belle’s father. In other words, look out Frozen, there’s a new Disney movie which everyone is going to be obsessed with coming your way!
An Instant Classic
And the amazing team being assembled for the film gets even better than that! Emma and Kevin join previously announced actors Josh Gad, who will play LeFou in arguably the best casting of all time, along with Luke Evans as Gaston.
Of course, we cannot neglect to mention the Beast himself: Downton Abbey hunk Dan Stevens will play the iconic role. Also thrilling, Alan Menken, who wrote all of the music for the original 1991 film, is on board to score the movie, which will feature both new versions of the original film’s songs as well as several brand new songs (!!!).
What do you guys think of all this casting? Is Emma right to play Mrs. Potts?
