The final moments of the March 15 episode of ‘Once Upon A Time’ featured the return of a very familiar face. Yep, [SPOILER]’s back!
Being bad can sometimes work out in your favor. On the March 15 episode of Once Upon A Time, Regina (Lana Parilla) went undercover to discover what the Queens of Darkness were up to and realized they were all after the same thing — the Author. The villains needed the help of a special someone and brought back a fan-favorite in order to take the next step in getting their happy ending!
‘Once Upon A Time’ Recap: Sinister Sisters
Regina hit up Granny’s diner and found Maleficent, Cruella and Ursula all drinking up a storm together. At first, Cruella and Ursula were unsure of Regina’s motives since she had gotten so close to the heroes. Regina played them and said she had to play nice to survive. Maleficent still had faith in her sinister sister.
Back in the day, young Regina was an evil princess in training. She wanted to learn anything and everything so she could get her revenge on Snow White. She thought Maleficent was the one who could help her the most, even over Rumple! Regina came across Maleficent’s castle and found the evil queen seriously wasted. She was upset over losing to Briar Rose and wanted nothing to do with helping Regina with her revenge. Thankfully, Regina wouldn’t give up on Maleficent.
‘Once Upon A Time’ Recap: This Means War
Before the Queens of Darkness would let Regina in on their secret, she had to prove herself. Cruella drove her car in front of an oncoming train to see if Regina would save them. This wasn’t exactly the best test, and Regina used her magic to get them away from danger. No one, not even the most evil queens, would like to get hit by a train.
David and Snow finally gathered up the guts to tell Emma that Regina went undercover. As expected, Emma freaked. Her parents forgot to tell her the ulterior motives for why they needed Regina for such a dangerous game. David and Snow caught up with Regina after her wild night out. She was a little rattled after her trip down memory lane and discovered the Queens were hiding something big.
The girls reported back to Rumple and admitted Regina was looking for information. Rumple didn’t really care about Regina. She was going to have to choose a side sooner or later because he was about to start about war.
‘Once Upon A Time’ Recap: How Maleficent Got Her Groove Back
Regina figured out that the Queens of Darkness were after the Author, too. Unlike Regina, the Queens wanted to shift the balance where the villains would win and the heroes would lose. Emma vowed to not let Regina do this alone. She would be coming in guns blazing if she noticed things going awry.
Emma followed Maleficent and Regina to Pinocchio’s house. Maleficent was really starting to worry that Regina had lost her edge. To prove that she hadn’t, Maleficent wanted Regina to kidnap the boy. This may be the first step of history repeating itself. Maleficent helping Regina get in touch with her evil spark was reminiscent to when Regina did the same thing for her all those years ago.
Regina was the one who allowed Maleficent to open back up her truly evil ways. Once Maleficent embraced her inner villain, she headed straight for Aurora. She put her under the sleeping curse we all know about. So basically, Regina is responsible for all of Sleeping Beauty.
‘Once Upon A Time’ Recap: No Strings Attached
In other Storybrooke news, Hook was very interested in Belle’s new romance with Will Scarlet. Do not even think about pulling a Emma/Hook/Belle love triangle on me. Hook was only interested in the dagger. Thank goodness.
Belle took Hook to the dagger so he could hide it where no one would find it. He wanted to make sure Rumple couldn’t get back into town. Belle had a strange feeling that Rumple was already back. Hook told her to command Rumple to face her with the dagger. She did, and nothing happened. However, that was because Rumple was pretending to be Hook!
Afterwards, Hook showed back up at the shop and made Belle swear she would never talk about their dagger plan again. He asked her if she was over Rumple and she admitted that she could never move on for good. This was all Rumple getting his intel about his lady love. Suck it, Rumple. Will Scarlet is cute.
Maleficent brought Regina and Pinocchio back to Rumple’s cabin where he revealed himself. He had the dagger and the boy. He knew that little Pinocchio would never be able to tell them about the Author, so Rumple brought back August!
Yes, August is BACK! Everything is AWESOME.
HollywoodLifers, are you glad August is back? Will Rumple ever stop being the worst? Let me know!
