Say it ain’t so! Raini Rodriguez, star of Disney’s hit series ‘Austin & Ally’ has confirmed that this season will be the show’s last!
This is a major bummer. Raini Rodriguez, who we know as Trish on the Disney series Austin & Ally, just shared the exciting news that she’s stepping behind the camera for an upcoming episode of the hit show and directing. Less awesome? She also confirmed that this season, the fourth, will be the last.
‘Austin & Ally’ Cancelled?
Well this stinks.
While chatting about her turn directing on Austin & Ally, Raini casually confirmed that the show is going to end after its four-season run. “Directing has been something I’ve wanted to do for a long time,” Raini told Variety. “We are in our last season of Austin & Ally. It made sense to make my directorial debut on a show I know so well.”
We know, so upsetting! And if that news doesn’t break your heart, Raini talking about her time on the series definitely will.
“I’ve been on this set for four years, so the cast and crew have become my second family,” she said. “They all support me and want me to succeed, so it’s the perfect place for me to get my start. There is no other set I would want to share my first directing experience with.”
So Long, ‘Austin & Ally’
Raini’s love fest with her costars didn’t stop there though! When asked about whether it was weird to direct her fellow actors, she said they couldn’t have made it any easier.
“They are the most supportive co-stars ever,” she said. “The second I told them I wanted to direct they all encouraged me to go for it. Working with them on set has been a blast because they’re so easy to work with and I love collaborating with them. Directing them is a pleasure.”
As if we weren’t sad enough already that the show was ending!
Are you bummed to see Austin & Ally go?
