Such sad news. Robert and his wife were reportedly involved in a terrible crash on the Colorado highway on March. 5, with a semi-truck, TMZ reports.

The accident happened around 3 PM when according to a police report obtained by the site, “Carradine crossed the dividing line and slammed into the truck.”

Following the accident, Robert was reportedly removed from the couple’s totaled 2003 Mercury Marauder by Firefighters, NY Daily News reports, and was rushed to the hospital with “incapacitating” injuries. His wife Edie, also had to be pulled from the wreckage and was injured in the crash as well.

While there were no drugs or alcohol reportedly present or involved in the accident, the site claims that Robert was cited with careless driving. “He was northbound on Highway 145 and drove right into the oncoming lane,”CSP Sgt. James Saunders told The Cortez Journal. “There were no apparent contributing factors.”

“The fact that they were wearing seatbelts is why they are with us today,” Sgt. James continued, the site also claims that both speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash. Both Robert and Edie were initially transported to Southwest Memorial Hospital to be treated for their “serious, but non-life threatening injuries,” but were then transferred to Mercy Regional Medical Center where they are reportedly no longer patients.
