Congrats are in order for Meghan Trainor! It’s just been announced that the pop superstar is set to receive a major honor. Talk about a breakthrough!

Atta girl, Meghan Trainor! The “All About that Bass” singer, 21, has just been announced as the recipient of the Breakthrough Artist of the Year Award at the Music Biz 2015 Awards! The talented gal will be on hand to accept the award when the ceremony is held this May in Nashville. Check out what Meghan had to say about the incredible honor!

Meghan Trainor’s Breakthrough Artist Award

It turns out, Meghan is all about considerably more than just that bass!

The singer and songwriter, who completely blew up in 2014 due to her smash album which included the single “Lips are Movin,'” will receive the award for Breakthrough Artist of the year as decided by the Music Business Association (Music Biz). Meghan, obviously, is extremely honored to be considered!

“I’d like to thank the Music Business Association for this great honor,” Meghan said. “When I first wrote ‘All About that Bass,’ I had no idea that it would completely change my life, but I’m glad that the song’s message of self-empowerment has caught on. I’m excited to accept this Award.”

A Deserved Honor

Meghan isn’t the only one excited about the honors. In  fact, the president of Music Biz, James Donio, is equally excited to see the pop sensation recognized.

“Many people think Meghan was an overnight success, but she has actually been working in the music business for several years, a lot of that time in Nashville,” said James. “Now, we’re thrilled to recognize her incredible talent in the city where her songwriting kicked into high gear.”

Before the release of Meghan’s debut studio album Title, she was given a publishing deal in Nashville, where she moved to in order to write songs for such artists as Hunter Hayes and Rascal Flatts.

Congratulations on the awesome honor, Meghan!

Do you think Meghan deserves the award?
