In this week’s back-to-back episodes of ’19 Kids and Counting,’ we got to see Michelle take a trip down memory lane when she attends her 30th high school reunion. We also witnessed a bunch of the Duggars try to get in shape before Jessa’s big wedding day.
On the March 10 back-to-back episodes of 19 Kids & Counting, the Duggar family is all about fitness. Michelle and her best friend hit the gym, while Jessa, Ben Seewald and a few of the kids workout at home. Also, Jill gets back into cooking, now that smells no longer make her morning sickness worse.
’19 Kids & Counting’ Recap: Michelle Discusses Her Bulimia Battle
This week’s first episode started out with Michelle and her best friend Cindy, (who Michelle only gets to see twice a year) hitting the gym together. Michelle is ecstatic to see her friend. “It’s great when Cindy and I get together because we can pick up right where we left off.”
During the pair’s workout, Michelle also opens up about her battle with bulimia as a young girl. She reveals that she struggled with self worth and always felt she needed to measure up to all of her friends. She told the cameras that she would make herself get sick after she ate. Sadly, Cindy never knew her best friend had an issue, but after reading Michelle’s books, she was proud of her for revealing the dark time in her life. Michelle has come a long way from her body issues and said the perfect quote, “Life’s too short to never have a chocolate chip cookie.”
It was great to see Michelle show fans that even though she has 19 kids, she still finds time to get up every morning and workout. And more importantly, to hear her courageously share her past struggles.
Jessa & Ben Send Out Wedding Invitations
Thank goodness Jessa has so many siblings, because her and Ben had 800 invitations that needed to be sent out. Her younger siblings graciously helped address and apply postage to all the invites. With only 42 days away from the wedding, Jessa and Ben quickly realize that there is still so much left to do. The couple’s wedding planner stopped by to discuss a handful of details, including the big question — what type of ice cream will be served at the reception. And then she asks Ben about his tux, which we quickly find out has yet to be ordered.
Michelle Attends Her 3oth High School Reunion
With the support of Jim Bob and a handful of their children, Michelle attends her 30th high school reunion. Thanks to Michelle’s classmates, we got to learn that she was a cheerleader back in the day, but she was also known for being a tough cookie. The amount of kids she had was also a bit shocking to her former classmates.
Johannah Turns 9-Years-Old
The family celebrated Johannah‘s 9th birthday with a horseback riding party at a local farm. They all got decked out in cowboy hats and colorful bandanas. Although one of the horses got spooked, it didn’t stop the kids or Grandma Duggar from participating in the farm’s activities.
The Duggars Get In Shape Before The Wedding
Ben and a few of the Duggars have been trying to fit in at least three workouts a week. During tonight’s second episode, we got to see the group push Ben’s truck up a hill for a leg workout. Of course, Ben had the fastest time, but the girls weren’t too far behind. The group also took on some hill sprints and lifted weights. Poor Jim Bob admits it’s been awhile since he’s worked out, but he feels confident he can bench press little Josie.
Jill Starts Her Second Trimester
As Jill begins her second trimester, she decides to cook a special Nepali dinner for her husband Derick. She reveals that she has become tolerant of all the smells now that she’s further along in her pregnancy. Jana comes over to help out and spend quality time with her younger sister. The two girls start to put together “dal bhat,” which is a traditional Nepal dish, but it isn’t easy. When Derick arrives home they all sit down to eat, and surprisingly the meal came out perfect.
Jessa & Ben Build Their Wedding Registry
With Justin and Jordan in tow, both Ben and Jessa head to the store to create their wedding gift registry. The two boys go off on their own with scanners, leaving the girls to themselves. Ben decides to scan foam swords and shields, along with a handful of other toys, while the girls took their job seriously and stuck to home goods. In the end Jessa doesn’t get mad, instead she’s happy Ben kept her siblings in mind.
