Adam Levine is out for blood. On the new season of The Voice, the Maroon 5 frontman is not ready to let another season go down as a loss for him and his team. In this sneak peak of the Mar. 9 episode, we see some of the harsh discipline that he’s using to help him walk away with a win. Check out the clip, which also features a bonus appearance from Ellie Goulding!
‘The Voice’: Adam Levine’s Battle Round Criticism
“No team can win anything if they’re not coached well,” Adam says in this sneak peak for The Voice.
Well, at least he understands he is just as much responsible for his team’s success as the contestants themselves. However, that means that his comments might be even more harsh than they usually would be.
“The smaller moments just weren’t great,” he says to two contestants who have come in to practice for the big battle round. “You were questioning yourselves,” he adds.
Show ‘Em How It’s Done
To show the contestants how it’s really done, Adam enlists the help of someone who certainly knows a thing or two about nailing a performance. “She doesn’t need to embellish,” Adam says about Ms. Ellie Goulding. “She just sings the song.”
And then, in a moment that might have very well killed us, Adam has Ellie sing a little bit of her song right there in front of the contestants. They were, of course, completely taken aback.
“I was just in awe,” one of the girls says. “There’s not many times that you’re sitting ten feet away from a superstar and she’s just singing her song like it’s nothing.”
What do you think of the clip? Is Adam being too harsh?
