The ‘Ghostbusters’ franchise may get a whole lot sexier! Development is underway for a new ‘Ghostbusters’ sequel with a male cast. So most importantly, will Channing land a starring role?
Channing Tatum, 34, would bring some serious magic to Ghostbusters! A new male-centric film, separate from Paul Feig‘s female Ghostbusters film is in the works, which is so exciting! Even more exciting is that Channing will be producing the film, as he’s teaming up with original Ghostbusters crew Dan Aykroyd and Ivan Reitman. But will he star in the new reboot as well? Here’s what we know!
‘Ghostbusters’: Channing Tatum To Star In Sequel?
It’s not official yet, but there’s a very good possibility that we’ll get to see Channing in action on the big screen! Along with producing the film alongside his partners Reid Carolin and Peter Kiernan, it’s likely that Channing will play one of the Ghostbusters in the film, according to our sister site, Deadline.
How exciting! This could by far be the sexiest Ghostbusters yet, are we right? We’d expect a ton of laughs and some sexy action, too!
The film will be a male version of the all-female Ghostbusters reboot, which stars Kristin Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones. Dan and Ivan, the original Ghostbusters crew, reunited to form Ghostcorps, a production company that will develop the franchise. So exciting!
“We want to expand the Ghostbusters universe in ways that will include different films, TV shows, merchandise, all things that are part of modern filmed entertainment,” Ivan told Deadline. “Paul Feig’s film will be the first version of that, shooting in June to come out in July 2016. He’s got four of the funniest women in the world … the second film has a wonderful idea that builds on that.”
The rumor of a new Ghostbusters came to light during the huge Sony hack, and we’re so glad it’s actually being put into action!
Emails between Channing and Sony executive Amy Pascal allegedly revealed that Channing was pitching the idea to star in the film along with his friend Chris Pratt.
Wow — it would seriously be a dream come true to see these two hunky men together in the hilarious franchise! Furthermore, the version Channing pitched was described as “simultaneously super scary while also super funny” — we’d love to watch them have a go at that!
