Cara Delevingne is more than just a pretty face! In the new trailer for ‘The Face of an Angel,’ we get our first glimpse of the supermodel in her major acting debut– and she’s incredible!

There are so many reasons to be stoked for The Face of an Angel. The thriller, which will hit theaters on June 30, is loosely (okay, not so loosely) based upon the real world events of the Amanda Knox case, which alone is a thrilling prospect. However, perhaps more excitingly, the film will mark the big screen debut of Cara Delevingne. Check out the trailer to see whether Cara’s acting chops can keep up with those of Kate Beckinsale and Daniel Bruhl!

‘The Face Of An Angel’ Trailer: Cara Delevingne Makes Her Big Screen Debut

“It’s important to look death in the face if you want to understand life,” it is said in this first trailer for The Face of an Angel.

In the action-packed film, a documentary filmmaker, Thomas (Daniel), attempts to investigate the mysterious murder of Jessica Fuller (Genevieve Gaunt), a British student who is found dead in her flat in Tuscany. The events inspired a former journalist (Kate) to write a book, and Thomas is commissioned to make a film adaptation.

Just as Thomas becomes completely absorbed in the bleak case, he meets a British student named Melanie (Cara). They begin to fall for each other, however, Thomas ultimately has to choose between Melanie, and his fascination with the case which may or may not be solvable.

The Real Life ‘Face Of An Angel’

It is no secret that the film’s traumatic events are based upon the case of Amanda Knox.

Amanda’s case, which attracted mass international attention in 2011, revolved around the murder of Meredith Kercher in Perugia, Umbria, Italy in 2007. Following the murder, Amanda was sentenced to a 26-year sentence and spent four years in custody overseas. However, in October of 2011, she was acquitted and all charges against her were dropped.

The tables turned yet again in 2013, when her acquittal was overturned by the Italian Supreme Court. Because of this, Amanda could be prosecuted again, which she was in early 2014. She was found guilty and was sentenced to 28 years.

Amanda is, of course, appealing the verdict, however she’s got some good news to share: She got engaged to longtime friend Colin Sutherland early last month.

What do you think of Cara’s acting skills in the trailer? Are you excited for the movie?
