It seems only fitting that Cate Blanchett wanted to add a baby girl to her house full of boys! The actress and her husband, Andrew Upton, have adopted a little girl — how sweet!
Talk about a fairytale! Cate Blanchett, 45, and husband Andrew Upton, are the proud new parents of a baby girl. The couple, who wed in 1997, decided to do something amazing — adopt! So wonderful!
Cate Blanchett & Husband Andrew Upton Adopted A Baby
Cate is already a proud mother to three boys, Dashiell, 13, Roman, 10, and Ignatius, 7. Now, she and Andrew have a little princess running around their household. On March 6, her rep confirmed the news to People.
The name of the Cinderella actress’ little girl has yet to be released, but seeing that all of her boys have such unique names, we don’t expect this new baby to be called anything ordinary.
Cate has spoken in the past about wanting to expand her family, despite being super busy with her career. ”I’d love to have more children,” she previously told InStyle. “Just when, I don’t know. But the thing is, we hadn’t planned any of the others. They just popped out. So you shouldn’t overplan these things. If it happens, it would be great.”
Well, it looks like now was the perfect time!
Cate Admits Her Three Boys Are Embarrassed Of Her
Cate says her young boys are currently in the stage where they find their mother to be a big embarrassment to them. “My children are completely in the stage where I’m an utter embarrassment,” Cate told Sunrise.
She jokingly went on to tell the outlet, “I don’t force them on a Saturday night to sit home and watch mummy’s movies, wire coat-hanger in hand, but they’ll see this one for sure.”
Congratulations again to Cate, Andrew and their three boys!
