Aside from witnessing some amazing talent, we know that we can always expect our hearts to be touched while watching The Voice! On the March 3 episode, 19-year-old Brenna Yaeger won us over when she shared her childhood story in hopes of joining Blake Shelton‘s team. Did she win a spot on any team? Find out!
‘The Voice’: Blind Auditions Round Three — March 3 Recap
First up was Ashley Morgan, who has been working as a background singer. She was super nervous to go in front of the judges, but she sang Whitney Houston‘s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” and killed it! She got both Pharrell and Blake to turn their chairs around before she joined Pharrell’s team.
Next was the charismatic Koryn Hawthorne from Louisiana. At just 16 years old, this girl has a powerhouse voice! She sang “What Is Love” and Christina Aguilera and Pharrell both turned their chairs around. She chose Christina, which seems like a perfect fit for her soulful voice.
Lexi Davilas was another moving contestant. She is a super shy girl, who was raised on latino music, and she dedicated her song, “Dreaming Of You” to her late grandfather. You could totally hear the emotion in her performance, but you could also hear her nerves. Both Adam and Blake turned around for her and even though the crowd was chanting “Blake,” she chose Adam Levine.
Next was Quincy Mumford, a 23-year-old newlywed from New Jersey who is a songwriter and also the lead singer of a band. He sang the Jackson 5‘s “Dancing Machine” and even though he gave his all, none of the judges turned around for him.
Finally, we saw Brenna Yaeger. She had the unique experience of growing up in a log cabin and works at a general store while performing her music during her free time. She sang Miranda Lambert‘s “The House That Built Me” in hopes of joining Blake’s team — both he and Adam turned around! She was in tears and shaking after her performance, but she obviously went for the country mogul.
There were so many other singers who caught our attention, too! The teams are filling up and we’re getting anxious for the battle rounds! Which coach do you think will bring home the title, HollywoodLifers?
