Amazing news, ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ fans! Not only is Jamie Dornan set to reprise his role as Christian Grey in the film’s upcoming sequel, but according to a new report he will also get a massive pay raise.
Jamie Dornan, 32, is ready to cash in on a major pay-day! The Irish model and actor was rumored to be leaving the role of Christian Grey behind, but according to a new report, the heart-throb will return for the Fifty Shades of Grey sequels because “the money on offer was just too good.”
Jamie Dornan’s ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ Sequel Raise — Set To Make $12 Million
Jamie is majorly raising his pay for the upcoming Fifty Shades sequels. The actor reportedly was paid just over $100,000 U.S dollars for the first film, but according to the Daily Star his pay will be increased to £4.5million — or $6.92 million in U.S dollars for the next two films — definitely an upgrade!
“Jamie has signed the deal and he’s thrilled, the money on offer was just too good,” a source told the publication. “He’s been really worried that he will get typecast as Christian Grey and it will do his long-term career ambitions damage.”
“So he was about to walk away and leave it all behind then bosses of the movie franchise came back with the jaw-dropping offer,” the insider continued.
It was reported that Jamie would be leaving the franchise because his wife, Amelia Warner was uncomfortable with the sex scenes, but it appears she is just fine with the racy material after all. “Amelia has no issue with it at all, but Jamie is too embarrassed to let her see the racier scenes.”
While Jamie’s rep had confirmed that the star would not be leaving the incredibly successful series, as HollywoodLife.com previously reported, once the rumors started there was a chance that Jamie would not be returning — and the reasoning had absolutely nothing to do with his wife.
“The problem is the obvious, fans didn’t like Jamie and Jamie and Dakota don’t like each other,” our insider exclusively revealed. “The second weekend dropped in the box office so much that the studio is scared the fans have seen enough. Many decisions need to be made, but Jamie isn’t safe to return — that is just a fact.”
Luckily for audiences everywhere, following the rumors of his departure fans of the franchise rallied around Jamie and freaked out over the possibility that he would no longer play their Christian!
